This course will provide concepts of how to put a dementia care program into practice. Based on the 20 year experience of the Alois Alzheimer Center, one the nation's premier Alzheimer's facilities, the course describes the how-to of developing cutting edge dementia care so that it is win win for facilities, staff, residents and their families. The course explicates the critical ingredients of dementia care units and how to make them a reality. It demonstrates a critical thinking process for implementation, presenting rationale for each step of the process and evaluation of the missteps.

Objectives:

2. Learn the SERVICE model of leadership.

3. Discover how to create a vision and how to get your staff to embrace the vision.
